Pyrenees; Shima, Japan

Considered to be one of the best rides in the world, this inverted looping coaster is still one of a kind. Its speed is normal, its number of inversions is nothing special, but the thing that sets this coaster apart from the others is one single landmark banked turn:
This tight banked turn through a huge straight loop sets this ride.
Pyrenees has six inversions (two loops, a cobra loop, and a barrel roll) which is nothing special, but the power of these loops is amazing. Said to be the rollercoaster pulling the most g-forces, this ride is almost worth going all the way to Japan worth.
  1. Speed: 7 (62 mph top speed)
  2. Inversions: 10 (best inversions in the world)
  3. Thrill Factor: 10 (one of the best in the world)
  4. Scenery/Theme: 8 (some tunnels late in the ride)
  5. Line Length: 8 (line is not too long)
Total: 9.8

Space Mountain, Disney's Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL)

This ride is a good beginning coaster for small children. If you are looking for pure speed and thrills, there is no reason you should go out of your way to get on this ride. The only really cool thing about this ride is the darkness. If it wasn't for the darkness, this ride would not even be worth building. The top speed of this coaster at 29 mph without any inversions, you will not find anything even close to special here. A sad stat is the fact that the highest drop is 15 feet. To give you an example of the lameness:
This ride is mainly comprised of going back and forth. If you consider this fun, go visit Disney.
  1. Speed: 0 (29 mph top speed is pathetic)
  2. Inversions 0 (no inversions whatsoever)
  3. Thrill Factor 7 (lights off add tons)
  4. Scenery/Theme: 10 (for Disney to make this ride even rideable, this had to be great)
  5. Line Length: 10 (Who wants to go on this ride?)
Total: 5.4 (ok)

This is the fun they wish you were having:

Project 2011, Busch Gardens Africa (Tampa, FL)

I am very pleased to hear that Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa, FL will be adding a new launch coaster to their park. I feel that it is needed to compete with other theme parks around the country with 9-11 coasters and to solidify its spot as the number one park in the state of Florida.
The coaster has rumored to be named " Cheetaka" with a Cheetah theme. It will located close to the cheetah pen and will contain numerous launches (rumored to be 3). Busch Gardens has leaked out details slowly and has not yet told the public the speed, inversions, or even the name.
I am looking forward to this new ride.
This website created by Busch Gardens contains four teaser videos:
  1. Code 1: Chase
  2. Code 2: Rush
  3. Code 3: Grace
  4. Code 4: Power

Here are the rumored plans of the park:
I can't wait to see this one!!!

Sheikra, Busch Gardens Africa (Tampa, FL)

Sheikra is a great ride. Named the best ride in the state of Florida, I have no facts to say otherwise. Besides an addition of more loops, two directly vertical drops, one from 250ft, and Immleman Loop, and a max speed of over 75 mph, there is no reason this ride is not the best ride in Florida, up there for top ride in the country. One of my personal favorite aspects of this ride is the fact that the line for this ride is surprisingly quick. I have been fortunate enough to ride this coaster many times and have enjoyed each aspect of it.
The theme for this ride is an African hawk that dives for its prey. It does fit the theme for the park, but I don't think its out of the ordinary.
A cool part of this ride is the second vertical drop. The second drop goes straight into an old-looking tunnel and add a lot to the ride. That drop leads the car into a water splashing fly-by, where was is sprayed to spectators.
This ride is great. A must see for any Tampa visitors.
  1. Speed: 8.5 (very fast)
  2. Inversions:8 (could be more loops, only one Immelman loop)
  3. Thrill Factor: 10 (vertical drop is great)
  4. Scenery/Theme: 8.5 (Hawk idea is cool, fits the rest of the park. The second vertical drop tunnel/river is amazing.)
  5. Line Length: 10 (surprisingly quickly moving ride considering the popularity)
Total:  9 (must-see)

The Incredible Hulk, Islands of Adventure (Orlando, FL)

The Hulk is one of my favorite rides in Florida despite its old age. It was built in 1999 as the first rollercoaster in the border park of Universal Studios. As an intimidating ride you first see and hear as you enter the park, the ride will give you the chills. The roar from the Hulk will make you think twice before entering.
The Hulk begins with a 0 to 45 uphill launch into a massive barrel roll dive straight into the central lake of Islands of Advanture. You drop 110 ft before reaching the bottom at almost 70 mph. After this huge drop, a huge cobra loop, two more regular loops, and a corkscrew follow.
This ride is smooth despite its age, and is a great ride for speed and flips. I am a huge fan of this ride and it is a definitely an important thing to do if you visit Orlando.
The line moves quickly and the maximum wait I have ever seen is around 50 minutes. The theme is cool, and fits the "Superhero" theme of the surrounding rides like Spiderman and Dr.Doom.

Speed:6.5
Inversions: 8.5 (cobra roll is amazing)
Thrill Factor: 9 (launch is really awesome and scary)
Line Length: 7 (10-15 minutes is average)
Scenery/Theme: 7.5 (Hulk is a great theme but there is no scenery in the tunnel)

Total: 7.7
